Rwanda Seeding Rate Data

Research
This data is from One Acre Fund seeding rate trials from 5 AEZs in Rwanda in 2016A to 2019B seasons.

Trials were performed on-station and on-farm. On-station trials were conducted at One Acre Fund research stations in Kayonza and Karongi districts, during 18B, 19A, and 19B seasons. A randomized complete block design was used, with 4 - 6 replications per season-station. Maize was grown at 4.4, 5.3, 6.7, and 8.9 plants m-2. On-farm trials were conducted during the 16A and 17A seasons. A randomized complete block design was employed; each farmer’s plot was considered as a block and seeded maize at three seeding rates; 6.6, 5.3, and 4.4 seeds m-2. The same maize variety was used in both on-farm and on-station trials; mid maturity “PAN 4M21”. The combined number of replications from all trials was 72.
