About the Role

The Inventory and Product Quality Specialist is a mid-level role within the Logistics department, reporting directly to the Logistics Manager. The main objective of this role is to reduce obsolete and expired products, ensuring the highest standards of product quality while minimizing financial losses. You will manage a team of two- an Inventory Coordinator and a Product Quality Supervisor, working with teams to meet KPIs on inventory management and disposal efficiency. This role is hybrid, with some days at at the office and some out in the field.

Responsibilities

  • Data Analysis (40%)
    • Ensure accurate tracking of product batches, including aging, lot numbers, and stop-sale statuses.
    • Manage disposal loss data and report on KPIs related to product aging, quality, and inventory compliance.
  • Inventory Management and Product Disposal (30%)
    • Develop and implement strategies to reduce obsolete and expired products.
    • Ensure efficient sale of slow-moving stock to minimize financial losses.
  • Product Quality Control (20%)
    • Conduct audits and maintain product quality control measures.
    • Coordinate with Warehouse, Procurement and Sourcing teams to address product quality concerns.
  • Coordination (10%)
    • Collaborate with product strategy and sales teams to identify promotional opportunities for slow-moving stock.

Qualifications

Across all roles, these are the general qualifications we look for. For this role specifically, you will have:

  • 3+ years of experience in supply chain management or a related field.
  • Bachelor’s degree in business administration, supply chain management, or a related field.
  • Proficiency in data analysis and the ability to use tools like Excel to maintain complex spreadsheets and other applications to manage complex datasets.
  • Experience developing strategies for managing aging inventory and reducing obsolete and expired products.
  • Experience in project management, with a focus on implementing improvements.
  • Stakeholder Management experience with internal and external teams.
  • Proficiency in English and Swahili.
