Support Smallholder Farmers. It Takes a Village.

Thriving communities are sustained by people power. Smallholder farmers are proof of what’s possible when communities come together. They’re working hard to increase their harvests, share their surplus food, and help their neighbors achieve food security—building stronger, more resilient communities.
But smallholder farmers face mounting challenges—depleted soils, extreme weather, and the daily impacts of climate change. Half of the farmers we work with experience hunger, yet they grow a third of the world’s food. The climate crisis is not tomorrow’s problem for them; it’s a reality they face every day.
The time to act is now. When farmers succeed, entire communities rise—food security improves, incomes grow, and future generations thrive. Your support today can create a ripple effect, transforming the lives of farmers and millions of others in their communities. It truly takes a village.

Feeding families. It Takes A Village
Before joining One Acre Fund, Talatu Ibrahim and her family struggled to grow enough to feed their household, let alone their neighbors. Today, thanks to improved seeds, better techniques, and access to training, Talatu and her husband Alhaji Ibrahim harvest more than double what they used to. Their surplus maize and vegetables now help feed those in need in their Pyata community.

“When people in the village don’t have enough food, they come to us. Thanks to the support we’ve received, we can share what we have so no one goes hungry.”
The communities we serve thrive thanks to mutual support and collective effort—and that's why your support is so essential.
By supporting One Acre Fund, you’re helping to tackle multiple interconnected challenges, and scale solutions that reach more farmers, faster:
- Climate Resilience: Enabling farmers to adapt to climate-smart practices.
- Food Security: Supporting farmers in increasing their yields and ensuring their families and communities have enough to eat.
- Economic Stability: Helping farmers boost productivity so they can earn more income and improve their livelihoods.
Create lasting prosperity for farm families. It Takes A Village
For farmers like Astérie, farming is more than a livelihood—it’s a way to uplift her family and her village. With access to training in techniques from contouring to composting, she transformed her small plot of land into a source of abundance, providing balanced meals for her children. She was then able to share her knowledge with her neighbors, becoming the leader of her local farmer group.

“As agriculture develops in the country, life will become easier for families because they will no longer worry about having enough to eat. With successful farming practices, it becomes easier to have improved harvests and enough food for families. When a family has enough to eat, peace prevails.”
Astérie has used her farming income to buy additional plots of land, ensuring her children—and future generations—have the resources to thrive.
Every donation, no matter the size, helps a farmer grow more food, build resilience, and support their communities.
