Double your impact this festive season

We are excited to share that One Acre Fund has been selected as the Grand Prize winner of two-time Pulitzer Prize winner and New York Times columnist Nicholas Kristof’s 2022 Holiday Impact Prize. Since 2009, Nicholas Kristof has written an annual “holiday gift guide” column to bridge a philanthropic gap: readers who wanted to help but didn’t know how, and heroic individuals and organizations who desperately needed resources but were off donors’ radar.

And every donation made to One Acre Fund up to $500,000 will be generously matched by a long-term One Acre Fund supporter, meaning your donation will go even further!

"I am glad that since enrolling with One Acre Fund, I am seeing changes in my harvests. In an acre, where I once harvested an average of 10 bags, now we harvest up to 26 bags!"

Invest in small-scale farms in Sub-Saharan Africa

One Acre Fund supplies small family farmers with the supplies and training they need to grow more food. How much more? On average, the farmers we serve benefit from a 45% increase in farm income after working with us. That means better lives, more resilient communities, and a healthier planet. With your help, more farmers will grow their way out of hunger and build lasting pathways to prosperity.

In the face of climate change, this work carries incredible urgency. Dependent wholly on their harvests for their livelihood, smallholders are one of the planet's most vulnerable populations to climate change. It is critical that farmers are equipped to build the resilience of their farms through simple techniques such as climate-smart farming and tree planting.

Head shot of Nick Kristoff
“We are facing crises on multiple fronts from food shortages to climate change, and One Acre Fund’s mission to help farmers boost food production and make their farms more climate resilient is urgent. A donation to One Acre Fund not only helps smallholder farmers escape poverty, but its impact is far greater for entire communities and for our planet.”
