New look, same mission: Why One Acre Fund is refreshing our leaf
When One Acre Fund began, we focused on a simple but powerful idea: if farmers had access to the right tools, training, and support; they could feed their families, increase their incomes, and grow their way to prosperity. Nearly 20 years later, that idea still lies at the heart of everything we do. But as the world around farmers has changed, so have their needs and so has our work.
Our impact has deepened, our vision sharpened, and we wanted a new symbol to help better tell our story.
Same Purpose, Expanded Impact
Agriculture has evolved significantly over the years, and so have the challenges faced by smallholder farmers. Today, they require more than seasonal support - they need long-term solutions that build resilience, open access to markets, and drive sustainable, year-round productivity.
To meet the growing and increasingly complex needs of farmers, we have honed our strategic direction. Today, we serve 5.5 million farmers across 10 countries, and our work now extends far beyond access to farm supplies and training. It includes tree planting, insurance, and building stronger markets and value chains; all designed to help farmers succeed, not just this season, but for the long term.
To better reflect this breadth, we are now viewing our impact focuses in three categories: driving productivity, building resilience, and strengthening markets. And, to bring these all together, we are introducing a new symbol that captures the spirit and purpose of our mission: the Prosperity Leaf.
What the Prosperity Leaf Represents
The Prosperity Leaf is a distillation of who we are and what we believe:
Who we are: A nonprofit social enterprise supporting smallholder with the tools, knowledge, and innovations they need to succeed.
What we believe: Farmers are the foundation of food systems, economies, and sustainable futures. They deserve to be at the center of global development.
How we serve: We serve smallholders across three impact categories:

Driving Productivity
Farming in sub-Saharan Africa is the backbone of rural communities and a great pathway to food security, improved livelihood, and farmer prosperity. Yet, 70% of people living on less than $1 a day are smallholder farmers. We work directly with them, providing access to high-quality farm supplies, hands-on agronomic training, and access to credit so they can grow more food and earn more income, not just for one season but for years to come.
Building Resilience
Farming is becoming increasingly unpredictable, and smallholder farmers are often the most vulnerable to weather-related challenges. We support farmers in building lasting resilience through services like crop insurance, agroforestry, land restoration, and income diversification. Our goal is to support farmers to improve their soil health, protect the environment, and grow more so that they can secure their livelihoods today and pass down healthier, more productive farms to the next generation.
Strengthening Markets
A good harvest is just the beginning; farmers also need to earn a good income for their hard work. Many smallholders lack access to reliable, high-paying markets. We close this gap by connecting farmers to local and international buyers, strengthening value chains, and investing in innovations, so farmers can make the most farm profit possible from their land and achieve prosperity.

Our refreshed brand, expanded programs, and growing impact all serve the same goal: to support smallholder farmers in growing their way to prosperity. With the prosperity leaf, we have a stronger, clearer way to express that commitment, one that matches the scale, complexity, and ambition of our work.
To every farmer, partner, supporter, and team member - thank you for growing with us. Our journey continues, and now, we have a refreshed look that represents just how far we have come and how much more we aim to achieve.
